The Met Gala, the popular and iconic fashion event that takes place every first Monday in May, was just hosted and I must share with you the best looks from this year's red carpet, or should I say green carpet?
The affair is known for showcasing some of the most emblematic celebrity looks ever such as Claire Danes' 2016 Glow In The Dark gown and Rihanna's 2018 Maison Margiela Artisanal couture, and last Monday when expectations where far up because of this year's theme —Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion— many delightful pieces exceeded the expectations.
As fashion lovers expected, the co-hosts of the gala —Bad Bunny, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, JLo and of course Anna Wintour— made it to the best dressed lists. Zendaya wore not one but two looks, the first by Margiela and the later one was a Givenchy vintage dress from their 1996 spring collection. JLo on the other hand wore a silver sparkling dress by Schiaparelli; Bad Bunny opted for a sculptural Margiela suit and Chris Hemsworth a smooth one by Tom Ford.
Despite all the jokes towards the cliché florals, celebrities who featured this on their garments looked far from boring, but of course not every outstanding look included this characteristic. Overall most looks turned heads and were fabulous but below are some that definitely stole the show.
Elle Fanning in Balmain
Kendall Jenner in Givenchy
Alia Bhatt in Sabyasachi
Anok Yai in Swarovski
Bad Bunny in Maison Margiela Artisanal
Karlie Kloss in Swarovski
Ariana Grande in Loewe
Phoebe Dyvenor inVictoria Beckham
